FAQ's
Q: What is this event about?
A: The Vestido Rojo event is a half-day health education conference for Latina women only! Learn life-saving health information around nutrition, exercise and healthy habits and enjoy a heart-healthy lunch all while making great memories with friends and family. You'll leave not only with goodies but with a life-saving message to share with others in your community! Part of the challenge for the Latina/Hispanic community is to raise awareness about heart disease and its risk factors. As key gatekeepers for health, it is essential to educate women about their risk and family’s risk for heart disease and stroke –this is the goal of Vestido Rojo, an activation of the Go Red Por Tu Corazon movement.
Q: What is a Madrina?
A: As a Madrina, you will serve as a hostess of a table of ten (9 plus you) in order to help Latina women get a life-saving heart health message. There is no cost for you or your guests to participate in this event. If you register as a Madrina, that does not guarantee a table. A table is reserved once a completed guest list is turned in. Your commitment to be a Madrina is a valuable contribution to increasing health awareness in our community as well as to the success of Vestido Rojo.
Q: How do I become a Madrina?
A: All Madrina’s must register online and must provide the names and contact information for all the attendees at their table by determined date. If you are in need of assistance or are having technical difficulties you may contact AHA office at 210-810-3094
Q: I signed up to be a Madrina! Now what?
A: Great! If you haven’t yet filled your table with the 9 other women, make sure you have all their names in the registration form online (use the code that was emailed to you to get back to your registration information) If you register as a Madrina, that does not guarantee a table. Q: What if I want more than 1 table at the event?
A: The system will allow you to register more than once as a Madrina. Tables are first come, first serve so be sure to fill all your tables as soon as possible as it is not guarenteed seating for those who do not fill out all the names of their table.
Q: Can I attend without hosting a table of 9 other women? (Attending as NOT a Madrina)
A: Yes! You can attend as an individual and we will place you at an open table for the event. If there is a few of you, but not enough to make a full table, then make sure each person reigsters individually and then contact Catherine Esquivel to make sure you are seated by each other 210-810-3094 or Catherine.esquivel@heart.org.
